As a club focussed on ensuring our members realise their cycling goals we offer 2 graded ride streams during the week and 1 graded ride stream on the weekend. Members are welcome to attend any session.

The two streams of training on weekday mornings:

  1. A standard bunch ride across 3 grades
  2. A structured training session focusing on a particular area of cycling fitness, eg hills, intervals, time trial. These rides are suitable for all fitness levels.

Weekend rides will predominantly be longer kilometres and will follow the traditional bunch ride principles.

Structured Training Sessions

We want SUVelo to offer an environment of improvement based on solid sports science principles. Structured training sessions maximise the training effect and promote gains in the shortest time possible. Structured rides also add variety to your ride program and allow you to ascertain your progress.

Further coaching and specific training is encouraged by the club. Members must source such training on an individual basis as it is not provided by the club however we can provide recommendations.

Sunday no official ride, however there are always lots of SUVelo members riding. Ask
around for more details or contact a committee member

How to Get Started

We encourage first-timers to join us on Fridays (if you prefer a slower pace) or Saturdays (if you are comfortable with a longer and faster ride). We encourage you to introduce yourself to the ride captain for that day. The captain will welcome you and get you safely integrated into the ride.
